It's Tough to Say"You know... it's tough to say, but, I really do miss you."
John Watson laughs, as he stands in front of the grave of Sherlock Holmes. It's been two years since Sherlock jumped, and John is finally able to go back and visit him again. But this is a special occasion. He's brought flowers, food, and he's dressed quite nicely for a public outing. He wonders if Sherlock would be able to deduce what was going to happen. "Won't have to deal with that anymore, though, I suppose..." he says with a sad chuckle, before sitting down on the blanket he's brought.
"I, uh... I had Mrs. Hudson make these for us," he says, holding out a plate of sausages to the stone. "She misses you terribly. We all do." John fumbles with something he's afraid to pull out of his pocket, and he's sure Sherlock would have stolen it by now if he were here.
"Um... I know we were never... you know- SERIOUS, I suppose, but..." he stumbles over his words. "But, I figured... better late than never, right?"
John exhales nervou
Anywhere You Go, Let Me Go Too (chp. 1) On a normal, uneventful Saturday morning, The Spine sat in the library of the Walter Manor talking to Peter Walter VI while Rabbit and Hatchworth sat in the hallway outside and Steve Negrete took Tago for an "inside walk" through the library. The Spine was about to make a crushing argument about the function of the little red flag on the sides of mailboxes when Rabbit came in, whining about something. It took the robot a moment to realize he couldn't understand anything Rabbit was saying. He couldn't even really be sure he was whining. More like a sobbing plea.
"Hey- Rabb- Rabbit, hey- calm- calm do- RABBIT!!" Spine got more and more frustrated as he tried to calm Rabbit's frantic gestures and ramblings. Steve was eventually able to grab the robot's hands and, forcing them to his sides, was able to shut him up. "Now what do you need?" Rabbit's hands twitched, but Steve's held fast.
"No, no, use your words, buddy," Steve said reassuringly.
Rabbit made an awkward,
Rabbit's PranksThe Spine awoke (if you could call it that) to the darkness of the closet he slept (if you could call it that) in. He instinctively scanned his surroundings, then walked out to join everyone at breakfast.
When he entered the room, it was clear something was off. It took The Spine a moment to realize that everyone's funny looks were directed towards him. Rabbit was the only one who didn't look confused - rather, it seemed like he was trying his hardest to keep a straight face. He also seemed to be avoiding eye contact with his brother.
The Spine tried to shake it off and tell himself nothing was strange. He got a glass of water and sat down at the table across from Rabbit, who looked about ready to burst.
He tried to spark a conversation by bringing up their upcoming performance at the Walter Robotics Expo, but everyone only mumbled their responses and exchanged amused glances. Rabbit made choked snorting noises and steam shot from his vents as he tried not to laugh.
"what is going on?"
Hath No FearGiving yourself completely up to fear is kinda like falling in love: You can't pin point exactly when it started and by the time you realize that you are surrounded by that sensation it's already game over. Just like the image of the person you are in love with starts creeping out from every unexpected corner, fear never leaves your side when you give it a welcome stay. After a restless sleep, it starts beating anxiously in your heart the moment you wake up in the morning and commands all your thoughts and actions throughout the day. It is nothing short of a prison, except you are the only inmate and the warden never takes a break. Ever.
I do not exactly remember when I let fear occupy my being but I remember the exact moment when I realized I was ruled by it. It was late in the afternoon, everybody was out there 'getting busy living' and I had locked myself inside my bed half awake, not particularly finding any valid reason to get out of it. Then I was awakened from a nightmare by my
